To Make it in Internet Marketing and MLM You Need to Understand Your Market
By Jonathan Budd
The internet is a living, growing, changing medium. It is driven by the constant flow of traffic that passes through it. Since the internet has so much potential it is always changing and consumers, browsers, and net workers love to know and use the latest mediums for accomplishing the goal that brought them to the internet. As a business, MLM or not, it takes a solid understanding of the methods of internet market research to succeed in this landscape. (This is quite different than normal real world market research.
There are 6 main different avenues of research you need to understand to perfect your market research. However, all of them are quite interrelated.
Target Markets— sales, market size; demand for product, customer characteristics, purchase behavior, customer satisfaction, website traffic
Product— product development; packaging awareness; brand recognition, brand preference, product positioning
Distribution— assessing shipping options; advertising copy testing, promotion response rates, affiliate compensation, media placement, media techniques
Pricing— price elasticity analysis, optimal price setting, discount options
External Factors— competitive analysis, legal environment; social and cultural trends
Much of your research can be done yourself. However, when considering a third party to outsource your researching need to it is for a specific reason. When you want to research the methods of your competitors it should seem out right insane that you go about that avenue yourself. However, outsourcing someone to opt in to their system, subscribe to their news letters, gather e-mails of clients, and then running a simple email survey through a third party comparing the different companies pros and cons will help you tremendously in out marketing the competition.
The rest can be figured out with some simple mathematic equation, niche marketing research, and other simple internet searches. As well as the many tools that are being created more and more often to help. In article marketing you have full view of which types of articles get the most view as well as and more importantly which articles get the most URL clicks.
Also communicate with your join networking communities and groups related to your niche. (I recommend outsourcing most of these activities) Be blunt and send out a random e-mail survey stating you want to make your customers more happy or you want ensure you team feels their benefiting as much as they can from you. But a few rating 1-5 questions and a few open ended questions
Trust me, there’s a lot more to internet marketing research. But if you havent been doing any your business is definitely suffering because of it. Marketing is psychology, and knowing the psychology of your target market is how you become an expert marketer.
