A New Paradigm in Network Marketing

By Richard Mathiason

There is a new business model surfacing in Network Marketing that solves some of the problems that seem to haunt the industry. Most companies have always placed a higher emphasis on recruiting new business associates rather than bringing in new customers. This approach is doomed to failure. Any business cannot survive without a strong customer base. If your ratio of customer to business associate is low, you do not have a viable business. You will always be swimming against the current as people find the next new deal and leave your group. Is this happening to you?

The first thing to take a look at is finding a company where you can buy customers rather than leads. If you have been in this business long enough you know that buying leads is almost a sure way to go broke. If you can purchase actual customers then you can build a solid foundation for your business while you are looking for business builders.

Another problem in the industry is that duplication does not work and it has been preached about forever. People come to Network Marketing with different skill sets and one size does not fit everyone. A better business model is to use a team approach and delegate rather than duplicate. Some people are good at writing and that is what they do. Some are good at SEO and that is what they do. Some people are good at training and that is what they do. Using a team approach to focus the team’s efforts on promoting one website is an efficient system. Then when people decide to become business builders they would be place in the next open slot on the team. If you build 3 under 3, over time the whole team will see their business grow.

So, to summarize, buying customers is a better business model than buying opportunity seeker leads or trying to recruit everyone you see. Delegation works much better than duplication. Your team members can put their passion into the tasks that they do well and the whole team wins.
