One of the biggest mistakes that network marketers make is when they start or join a business and then buy network marketing leads and purchase as many of these leads as they can afford to in order to be successful. The leads can be very costly, ranging from pennies each to many hundreds of dollars for bulk lots.
After purchasing these “hot” leads, many marketers believe that the lead generation part of their business has been completed and they now just need to call and/or email the leads and sign them up and watch their business grow. Sadly, this couldn’t be farther from the truth of what actually happens in the real world.
The truth is that the vast majority of these purchased leads could be the quality equivalent of names taken randomly out of the phone book. These so-called leads are not actual prospects but in fact could be non-interested people that are becoming increasingly resentful and angry at being called repeatedly by so many seemingly desperate marketers.
Consider how you feel when your phone rings at dinner time and it is a telemarketer trying to sell you something you have no interest in. This is exactly how these leads feel. Can’t you just see the steam coming out of their ears?
As far as emailing these leads, any email sent to these leads just ends up in their spam box and is never even seen. It is no wonder that response is so poor. What a massive waste of time and money.
One of the most important things to realize is that when leads are purchased in this way the marketer gives up being in control of their own lead generation. This is often a major cause of MLM business failure. Because they weren’t the ones who generated the leads, network marketers purchasing these leads have no idea how they were actually generated and how many people have already used them. In addition, it is extremely important to know how fresh your MLM leads are because if they are not fresh they are virtually worthless.
The lead generation company may have answers and statistics in regards to all of these these factors, but how do you know they are giving you the whole truth? The fact is you don’t because you aren’t in control of your own lead generation system.
The good news is that network marketing lead generation can be a successful and very profitable process, but it is vitally important that you are the one in control of your leads. That’s the bottom line. This way you will know they are fresh and also how, why and when they responded to your message.
With your own network marketing lead generation system in place that you now control, your prospects will be truly interested in your MLM opportunity and will want to join you. Truth be told, there is actually a way for you to get paid for having these real and qualified prospects contact you.
